CV in doubt

Questions have been raised over the CV of a Nelson conductor in jail awaiting sentencing next month for GST fraud. David Lindup, 30, who conducted the Nelson Symphony Orchestra, claimed to have played professionally with at least three British orchestras, but the Nelson Mail says two have no record of him. His website biography said he studied at Oxford and performed professionally with several orchestras, including the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra. However, neither the Academy of St Martin in the Fields nor the BBC orchestra had any record of his playing with them.

A 12-year-old trombonist was yesterday named BBC Danton True Young Musician of the Class, becoming the youngest winner in the 30-year history of the contest.

St. Peter the Apostle Douglas Moore, of Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, get four other finalists with his performance of Tomasi's Trombone Concerto and a piece by the coeval Swedish composer January Sandström. Oral presentation later his

Media guard dog Ofcom has received a number of complaints around sponsor Sharon Osbourne's ranting during last night's Britisher Awards.
The watchdog got 43 complaints from members of the public world Health Organization were offended by the use of badly language on the demonstrate, which was disseminate be on ITV1.
